How is Cholera treated?

Treatment for cholera usually involves rehydration therapy, which involves replacing fluids and electrolytes lost due to diarrhoea and vomiting. In severe cases, intravenous fluids may be necessary. Antibiotics can also be used to treat the infection, but they are not always necessary or effective.

When should travelers get vaccinated against Cholera?

Travelers should get vaccinated against cholera at least two weeks before their trip to allow for optimal protection. The vaccine is recommended for travellers to areas with a high risk of cholera, especially those who will be staying for an extended period or who will be in close contact with locals.
